These are the contents on my nightstand right now:
1. Pre and post Radioactive Iodine procedure drugs: Salagen. Compazine. Synthroid, 137 mcg.
2. Cancer Center folder with: Calendar. Radioactive Iodine information, 10 pages.
3. Personal notepad with: Low iodine diet rules, list of materials needed for Wednesday, torn rough drafts of agenda.
4. "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl."
I just realized how perfect this timing was. When I wanted to see "Me and Earl" last year on July 1st, I got ill shortly after. And have been sick since, so never got around to it. Finally got the chance to see it for free on the housesitting TV, loved it, expressed said love to bf, was interested in the book but was not going to buy it as $7 is $7 over budget, anniversary comes around a few days later, bf gets it for me, bam. Perfect timing. And the fact that I get to read it during radiation? I'm now closer to the dying girl than I will ever be: She has cancer and goes through treatment, I have cancer and I'm going through treatment. It was meant to be. Only hopefully my outcome is different than hers.
